問題內容(由於來信較長,只摘錄重點如下):老師您好,我是來自廣西的網友,今年開始讀英語專科(成人夜大)的課程,總覺得學英文不得其門而入,所以特來請老師指點:(一)如何背單詞,特別是如何利用工作、生活空閒之餘背誦生文;(二)如何精讀、精學文章的綜合分析,以強化聽(Listening)、讀(Reading)、說(Speaking)與寫(Writing)的基礎能力,謝謝。

Dear Easy,

Greetings from Taiwan. Thank you very much for your sharing. I really thank God for you and your attitude and devotion to English study. More importantly, I really hope that you have a lot of joy while learning English. As you mentioned about your learning method of English, I don't think there's any problem there. Since language learning is a time-consuming process, you will definitely benefit from it as you spend certain time on studying English.

Foundation is essential, you certainly have been doing a good job no matter on listening, speaking, reading or writing. Try to interact with people in English whenever there's a possibility which will make you speak English more fluently. When you listen to the tapes or CDs, it's good for you to get familiar with different accents cause when you deal with people in reality, they'll sound very different to you. Yet, you use the declamatory way to practice
your English is very smart cause that will lift up you confidence to speak out in English. Meanwhile, you can also hear your own pronunciation and may adjust it a little. However, don't worry too much about your pronunciation when you speak English cause each one of us will have our own natural accent, just do your best and that's good enough.

As for writing, your habit of keeping a diary and journal is good for you cause that will make you easier to compose an essay or an article at school. Maybe you need to assess the writing situation before you start to write. For example, you may consider subject, purpose, audience, length and format before you get started. You also will go through planning, drafting, and revising stages cause it's not possible to think about everything all at one time. As you practice more, you will become an experienced writer in the near future.

In short, I like to encourage and affirm you with your efforts in learning English. I think with your continuous progress, your English will become superb someday. Don't forget God is your strength. I hope this will help you with your questions, please feel free to contact me or Denise (through Seewant) if you have any further questions.

Blessings,

Julie

Dear Easy,

From my experience, I think reading short stories is a good way to learn English. It is fun and interesting. While you read the stories, you should pay attention to useful words/phrases and sentence structure. The more you read the easier you write.
Keep up the good work!

Denise
